SALARY & HOURS: 1 FTE £58,105

The Academic Learning Technologist will join the faculty teaching team and participate in the design, delivery and quality control of excellent undergraduate-level learning, teaching and assessment activities. The successful candidate will be expected to use best evidence in the creation and evaluation of teaching sessions with specific emphasis on incorporating TEL learning and best pedagogical practice into curriculum material. They will be expected to create and evaluate assessment items and become involved in student support as a Tutor.

The post holder will also develop technology enhanced workflows within institutional platforms, including Microsoft, in and for the academic environment. The post holder will function in a multi-disciplinary team to enhance teaching and learning modalities in the synchronous and asynchronous spaces. The post holder will be responsible for the training of the faculty staff in technology utilisation for teaching and learning.

They should show a commitment to developing as a medical educator across a range of subject areas (with appropriate training). In addition, candidates should have experience of setting and marking assessments of various types, with clear evidence of organisational, administrative and IT skills along with a sound understanding of quality assurance and enhancement issues, procedures and practices.

Professional qualifications such as a recognised Higher Education teaching qualification or Higher Education Academy Fellowship would be advantageous.
